A business grant program, authorized by the Blue Earth County commissioners, was able to help out many businesses. County administrator Bob Meyer says the program spent the money the county received from the federal CARES act.

“We were able to serve 250 county businesses and ultimately issued almost over two-point-two million in assistance,” said Meyer.

Meyer says the county ended up giving out 130-thousand dollars more than what was allocated for the program, but the commissioners felt it was important to help out local businesses that have been struggling due to the COVID-19 economic downturn.
