Highway 109 from Wells to Alden will open back up to motorists on Friday, according to MnDOT.

The ten-mile segment of road has been under construction since early May, with a detour using Highway 22.

Work on the 5.8-million dollar project included resurfacing, replacing more than 20 culverts, reconstruction of pedestrian ramps and utility work in Wells and Alden.

While the detour will be removed on Friday, motorists are advised to use caution as workers complete the project.
