Adele is finally back! Well, sort of. It has been four, excruciatingly long years since the superstar released her album 25, and fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of her next project ever since. The singer took to Instagram on Sunday, October 18, to announce that she is going to be hosting Saturday Night Live next week with H.E.R. as the musical guest. Despite Adele being booked as the host and not the musical guest, many fans have been debating whether or not the “Hello” singer’s re-emergence is to promote a new project of some sort. Some fans have noted that Adele is known to stay out of the public eye with the exception of the occasional Instagram post when she has no music to promote. On the other hand, other fans have noted that in the caption of her post announcing her SNL hosting debut, the artist seems to point towards having more time these days as the reason why she decided to take on the role. Additionally, in August, when asked by a fan if new music was coming soon by a fan, the artist simply “I honestly have no idea.”

In the caption of her post announcing the gig, Adele also took the time to look back on her first performance on the infamous late-night show. She notes that her performance will nearly be exactly 12 years ago when she hosts this coming Saturday, October 24. The 2008 performance played a big role in popularizing the British singer in the United States. Adele recognized how the show did this for her and says that going back to New York this week “feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!” Regardless of whether or not the 15-time Grammy Award winner has new music coming soon, we are just excited to see the hilarious musician back on TV!
