Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo says he has faith members of the community will help quell any further violence in his city. The Chief confirmed reports circulating that riots were fueled last night by non-residents.

“Many of the people involved in the criminal conduct last night were not known Minneapolis. So yes there were certainly people involved in the activities last night that were not recognized as being here from the city.”

Arradando, a Minneapolis native, says the city he knows will not allow itself to be torn apart by further rioting.

“You are going to start seeing more community healers, faith leaders, our elders and even our youth, and so I think you’ll see a shift in that today. I’m always hopeful because it is the same community that has supported me throughout my career.”
