Authorities in Nicollet County came to the rescue of a kayaker who became lost on Swan Lake on Saturday evening.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the kayaker, Jade St. Germaine of Watertown, Wisconsin, that stated she became disorientated in tall weeds and trees after leaving her kayak to explore an island on foot.
Deputies and a Conservation Officer were able to locate the missing kayaker with the use of a boat. Also assisting with the recovery were Gold Cross Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol and the DNR.
St. Germaine was evaluated at the scene by medical personnel and released.
The kayak was not recovered.
