The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has identified the three officers who discharged their weapons during an officer involved shooting in St. James.

Assistant Chief Rochelle Hanson fired her Taser and her gun. She has been in law enforcement for 18 years including 14 years with the St. James Police Department.

The BCA says Minnesota State Trooper Jacob Ruppert and Watonwan County Sherriff’s Sergeant Barry Gulden discharged Tasers.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner determined that 20-year-old Gilberto Salas of Gaylord died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The BCA’a preliminary investigation shows he led police on two separate high-speed chases in a stolen car before approaching officers with a knife inside of a convenience store.
