A Belle Plaine man staying at a Mankato motel last week is accused of stomping on his son. The Mankato Department of Public Safety says Belle Plaine Police contacted them after receiving a child protection report concerning 35-year-old Timothy Bratsch.

The child told police that Bratsch had intentionally stomped on his leg multiple times and a witness described the stomping as looking like, “Someone trying to kick-start dirt bike.”

The criminal complaint shows Bratsch denied the act was intentional and claimed that he did not have contacts or glasses on that evening and he accidentally stepped on his son’s foot. Bratsch claimed he was “blind as a bat without his glasses.”

Court documents show Bratsch was previously convicted of domestic violence in 2011.
