Blue Earth County is looking for election judges in preparation for the August 14 primary election and the November 6 general election.

Election judges are responsible for setting up and tearing down a polling location, registering voters, provide ballots, assist voters and oversee ballot-counting machines. State law requires judges to be eligible to vote. Pay for the position varies on precinct policy, but is at least minimum wage.

By law, judges must be granted time off from work while serving as an election judge.

State Officials say as many as 30-thousand judges are temporarily employed at polling places across Minnesota during elections.
