Beginning Monday, November 23, Blue Earth County will offer walk-up services by appointment only. Phone-based and online services will still be available. Public entrances will be closed and signed at high-traffic locations that include but are not limited to:
- Government Center
- Historic Courthouse
- Public Works main and satellite building locations
- Some County offices within the Justice Center
- County libraries
In addition to appointments being offered, Blue Earth County employees will be available to respond to phone-based and online services. Alternative ways to provide services for residents that do not require person-to-person contact but deliver these important functions have been developed.
Blue Earth County is making this change in an effort to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in our community. “We are committed to delivering services to those in our community”, says County Administrator Robert Meyer. “Our number one priority is to protect the health and safety of our residents and staff.”
Building closures will continue through at least December 18 in alignment with Executive Order 20-99. At that time, County leaders will redetermine whether buildings can reopen or if other adjustments need to be made.
