A 36-year-old Mankato man is facing two counts of burglary and four assault charges after investigators say he showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s home and beat her and another woman when he was asked to leave.

The mother of Olil Kuot’s child says she allowed him to visit for about 20 minutes but then asked him to leave because she had to be to work early the next day and needed to go to bed. The woman says she repeatedly asked Kuot to go and it turned into an argument.

When another woman in the home got involved, the criminal complaint states that Kuot threw his phone at her and punched the victim several times with a closed fist. He’s also accused of biting his ex-girlfriend and punching her in the face several times. She told police that she had to grab a broom and hit Kuot in the head with it in order to get the attack to stop.

When spoke to at his home, Kuot told investigators that he had permission to see his child, and the two women had attacked him. When asked about a significant size difference between him and the two victims, he replied, “They are small, but they are strong.”

Documents show he blew a .212 on an alcohol breath test.

Court records show Kuot has a previous assault conviction from 2012.
