The city of North Mankato turned 120 last December. This milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on our past as well as celebrate our culture and future.

The Nicollet County Historical Society is marking the anniversary of North Mankato this summer with an exhibit, North Mankato: A Stroll Through 120 Years, and we need your help.

No exhibit is complete without some visuals to go along with the text. We’re hoping to acquire loans or donations of historical items gathered over the years about North Mankato. NCHS is looking for

  • Photographs
  • Memorabilia
  • Records
  • Advertisements
  • and more to display in the exhibit.

Topics might include churches, homes, sports, social activities, businesses, and street scenes, just to name a few. We have locked display cases, and copies of any original photos will be used.

They would be happy to pick items up if they cannot be dropped off at the Treaty Site History Center. There is a brief form to fill out that includes any history of the item for exhibit labeling.

The exhibit runs from August 1 to December 14. The deadline to be included is July 26.
