For years, they said it couldn’t be done.  But last night, “they” were proven wrong . . . when the “Oscars” got EXCITING.  And unless you spent last night under a rock, then you already know that I’m talking about the SLAP.

The Oscars were hosted by Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina King.  Here are some of their opening jokes.

Chris Rock was doing some jokes before the Best Documentary nominees.  One of the jokes he told was about Jada Pinkett Smith. Jada shaves her head due to a medical condition.  She has alopecia, which causes hair loss.

(Here’s a video she posted back in December.)

Even though her husband Will Smith laughed, she didn’t.  You can clearly hear how Chris is having a hard time regaining his composure.

Denzel said moments after the incident happened and right before Will won his 1st Oscar….he said,  “Be careful. At your highest moment, that’s when the devil comes for you.” During the commercial break, Denzel and Tyler Perry were seen calming Will down. Puff Diddy tries to broker peace between Will and Chris . . . then Amy Schumer pokes some fun.

Chris Rock is not filing a police report. The question remains…will the Academy should take back Will’s Oscar for violating their code of conduct?

Will Smith went on to win an Academy Award for his role in “King Richard”, about the father of Serena and Venus Williams.  When he began his speech, some laughed, thinking he was going to address what had happened.

Billie Eilish and her collaborator/brother Finneas won the Oscar for Best Song last night.  Here they are performing the James Bond theme, “No Time to Die”.

Taylor Hawkins, drummer of Foo Fighters, died on Friday in Bogata, Columbia, just hours before they were set to perform.  Taylor was only 50.  Toxicology tests found 10 psychoactive substances and medicines, including marijuana, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants, and benzodiazepines.  It didn’t provide a cause of death and investigations are continuing.
