MnDOT plans to close the Highway 22 and Blue Earth County Road 90 intersection on June 6 to begin constructing a new 4.1-million dollar roundabout.
Traffic will be detoured to County Road 10 and Highway 83, with available access routes to local businesses.
Construction of the roundabout includes safety improvements, the addition of left turn lanes into residential areas and a structural snow fence on the northwest corner of the intersection.
The closure is part of the overall Highway 22 project that started on May 7. Officials say the project is progressing, but work will continue through October.
