Bids will go out on March 22 for planned improvements on Jefferson Avenue in North Mankato.

Improvements on the roadway will take place between Cross Street and Range Street, according to City Engineer Dan Sarff.

“We updated the cost estimate based on the final design and it actually came down just a little bit. Currently at $517,700.”

Eighteen homes will be accessed for the improvements.

Construction this summer will include replacement of the sanitary sewer, water main and addition of a new storm sewer along with new curb, gutter and pavement.

Officials say portions of the roadway have not seen improvements in over 65 years.
