(Taopi, MN) — Damage assessment is underway after the small Minnesota town of Taopi was slammed by a tornado. National Weather Service crew confirm that the tornado was on the ground late Tuesday night for five to six miles when it hit the town. The EF2 tornado impacted nearly every building in the town. Two residents were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being trapped in the basement of their flattened home. Law enforcement also went door to door to evacuate the approximately 20 homes in the town following a gas leak. The extent of the damage isn’t clear yet.
