State lawmakers are heading back to St. Paul today for their seventh special legislative session this year. State Senator Nick Frentz of North Mankato says they’ve reached an agreement on how to help businesses and workers currently affected by the pause related to COVID-19

“We’re on the floor at three o’clock today,” said Frentz. “The short story is there is progress.”

Frentz was asked if there was anything that could get into the way of this measure passing

“If any legislator is willing to stand in front of this, it would be bad for Minnesota and not great for them politically,” said Frentz.

Lawmakers are expected to extend Governor Walz’s emergency powers related to COVID-19 for 30 more days.
