As Vice President Mike Pence tours Mayo Clinic facilities supporting COVID-19 research and treatment, state Democratic Party leaders are blasting the Trump administration’s response to the pandemic. Minnesota D-F-L Party Chairman Ken Martin points to what he calls the president’s “chaotic leadership and his decision to force states to go it alone”:

“Throughout this crisis, Donald Trump has refused to lead a coordinated 50-state approach to expanding testing capacity, which public health experts, governors and business leaders agree is necessary to re-open the economy.”

In a statement, the Republican National Committee says the vice president’s trip to Mayo Clinic “reinforces the Trump Administration’s commitment to fighting the coronavirus across the country.”
