More details are being released about a Minnesota grandma who allegedly killed her husband and then led authorities on a monthlong, cross-country manhunt.
Florida detectives say Lois Riess killed a woman in Fort Myers in order to assume her identity, and then took steps to conceal the crime before taking off again for Texas.
Authorities say she killed 54-year-old David Riess at their Blooming Prairie home before heading to Florida and killing 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson.
The newly released documents say Riess stuffed a towel under a bathroom door to block the smell of decomposition, and called the front desk to extend her victim’s stay. She was arrested in Texas ten days later.
