D-N-R officials suspect a moose that acted aggressively toward a vehicle and damaged a truck near Eveleth last week had some sort of neurological disorder.   The moose had been using a winter logging road south of Highway 16  and didn’t seem aware of workers in the area:

“It looked like this moose had tried to walk in between a rather  tall snowbank and the truck and its tipsy state fell into the truck, knocked off its mirror and kind of and slid down hood and knocked out the front headlight from the well and kind of bent the hood a little bit.”

Acting wildlife manager Penny Backman says the 775 pound cow was showing symptoms of brain worm so a conservation officer put it down.  A necropsy is being done on the moose at the D-N-R lab in St. Paul.
