Extra law enforcement will be on the roads this New Year’s Eve looking for impaired drivers. And Mike Hanson with the Department of Public Safety has this advice:

“If you think you’re impaired, you are impaired and that is the core of our message, is to plan ahead and to make good smart decisions and to keep the roads safe for everybody.”

Hanson says that from 2015 – 2019, 28 people died in drunk driving-related crashes in Minnesota during the holiday DWI extra enforcement period.
