(St. Paul, MN) — Driving-while-impaired arrests are up by nearly ten-percent in Minnesota this summer compared to last summer. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says more than 12-hundred impaired drivers were arrested from August 19th to September 5th this year. Last year, that number was one-thousand-145. This comes as state troopers are ramping up patrols throughout the state, particularly in the Twin Cities.
