There is potentially some good news emerging about the new Galleri (gallery) Early Detection Cancer Test. Dr. Ed Greeno is with M Health Fairview:
“This is a blood test that’s designed to detect many different kinds of cancers. It’s a new kind of screening test that looks for the genetic signature of cancer in the blood.”
Dr. Greeno says people over 50-years old and those with known cancer risks are the best candidates for the blood test. He says the downside – for now – is most insurers have yet to agree to cover the cost of the screening.
