Many Minnesota students are heading back to school. Denise Specht with Education Minnesota says this is basically the 3rd academic year impacted by COVID and without vaccine and mask mandates in place…

“We’re asking districts and school boards to make public health decisions about the safety of their students and staff and that isn’t exactly what they’re the experts on.”

Specht says school leaders are following the best guidance from health officials, but the only way to keep students in-person learning is everybody follows the recommended guidelines about masking and getting vaccinations.
