As state health officials prepare to begin administering the COVID vaccine to kids ages 5-11, Denise Specht with teachers union Education Minnesota says:

“We know that vaccination against the coronavirus is the best way for parents to protect their kids and keep our local school communities healthy and meeting in person, so we’re really hoping that parents of school-aged children will get them vaccinated unless there’s a rare or legitimate medical reason not to.”

Specht says every parent or guardian deserves a chance to get their kids vaccinated and the process should be as equitable as possible.
