The Education Minnesota teachers union, major labor unions, and activist groups are launching what they call a statewide ad blitz supporting Governor Tim Walz’s plan to increase taxes on the wealthiest Minnesotans and the most profitable companies.   They say Minnesota must focus on supporting all families as the state works to recover from the COVID pandemic.   But the Minnesota Business Partnership’s Charlie Weaver warns businesses will leave if higher taxes make Minnesota an “island”:

“If there’s one thing we learned in COVID is that people can work from anywhere in the country — really, anywhere in the world — so we don’t want to be in the top one or two or three in the country in terms of these taxes.”
