A 26-year-old Fairmont man is accused of kicking another customer in the head in an apparently unprovoked attack at a Mankato restaurant on Sunday, breaking the man’s nose.

Mankato Police say Gilardo Gonzalez Jr. claimed that the victim took a swing at him in the bathroom, but he appeared to be uninjured. The restaurant’s cashier also told investigators that Gonzalez had punched him in the face as well.

Gonzalez is facing one felony assault charge and four misdemeanor assault counts.
