The first snowstorm of the season led to a treacherous day across the state Tuesday. According to the State Patrol, there were 493, crashes, 614 spinouts, and 22 jackknifed trucks between 11:00 a.m. and 8:30 last night. MnDOT’s Anne Meyer notes this was the first of many rounds to come:

“So we hope that drivers are putting back on their winter driving caps and paying attention each time they get behind the wheel because winter’s gonna be with us for a while.”
