Five people were injured, including a child and a teenager, when a driver ran a stop sign Saturday near Gaylord and was hit by a pickup

Minnesota State Patrol says 33-year-old Karen Elena Giron-Rodriguez failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 19 and County Road 7 and the van she was driving was hit by a pickup.

Giron-Rodriguez had minor injuries, but three passengers – 33-year-old Iris Giron-Mairena, 16-year-old Yaneth Lopez, and 11-year-old Allison Lopez – were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Three other children were not hurt.

Pickup driver 37-year-old Scott Dethmers had minor injuries.
