(Brooklyn Center, MN) — Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter is now charged with first-degree manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Daunte Wright. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced the charge Thursday, which is in addition to a second-degree manslaughter charge Potter already faces. She’s accused of killing Wright during a traffic stop earlier this year. Potter says she meant to deploy her Taser, but accidentally shot her gun instead.
