Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services will launch free legal checkups at Open Door Health Center in Mankato next week.

Volunteer attorneys will be identifying legal issues, providing free legal advice, and helping clients prepare for the future. If necessary, client cases will be referred to SMRLS attorneys for additional legal assistance.

Legal checkup clinics are open to the public for low-income individuals in Southern Minnesota as well as ODHC patients. They’ll be offered at ODHC the third Monday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The first is on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Although there may be some same-day availability, those interested are encouraged to schedule appointments in advance by calling SMRLS.
