Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day.

The DNR’s Pat Arndt encourages Minnesotans to check out a State Park because, “This is a time when you’ve been thinking about — I want to get out and try some things. I want to see how my kids react to some of these programs. I want to get them engaged.   I’ve been wanting to get them out to a park — we have all kinds of opportunities for you.”

At Minneopa State Park, the MN Zoomobile will be there with presentations at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. and an ice cream social will be held in between the two presentations at the Event Shelter on the waterfalls side.

As an added incentive, the DNR is waiving the requirement for a vehicle permit (a $7 value) and providing free admission at all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas Saturday.
