Officials have freshened up the logos for Greater Mankato Growth and GMG, Inc. as the organization nears its 150th anniversary.
Originally established as the Mankato Board of Trade, Greater Mankato Growth, Inc. will celebrate its 150th year of existence in September. It has also been 10 years since the merger, which created GMG, Inc.
President and CEO Jonathan Zierdt says if there is any time to change the logos, now is the time.
“We’re combining everybody under one brand, under one office, right. We have to print all that new stuff anyway. GMG itself has celebrated 10 years in existence. So you have all these milestones that say hey, if you’re gonna change a logo, now is the time to do it.”
The other business units under GMG, Visit Mankato, GreenSeam and the City Center Partnership have all recently underwent new logos. Officials say the wanted all four business units to have a distinctive look and identification, potentially eliminating any confusion between the corporation and business unit.
It was announced in 2017 that all four of the GMG, Inc. business units would be relocating to the first floor of the Graif building this summer.
