The Republican candidate for Minnesota secretary of state and a staff member were injured in a parade float crash in Carver on Sunday.

Republican candidate for Minnesota secretary of state was injured in a parade mishap and needed 14 staples to close a head wound.

A Tweet from State Representative Jim Nash says John Howe and Campaign Manager Tim Droogsma were thrown from the GOP float during the Steamboat Days parade.

Howe Tweeted, “Campaigning can be tough some days,” and said he had road rash and 14 staples to close a wound to the back of his head.

Howe campaign manager Tim Droogsma was also thrown from the GOP float during the Steamboat Days parade.

Droogsma also took to Twitter, posting, ” That feeling when a 2,800-pound trailer runs over you. Grateful to God for being spared, thankful for great EMTs and ER staff.”
