Though Governor Tim Walz says there are “brighter days ahead” with regard to COVID now that vaccine shipments are here and more are on their way, he says he recognizes

“During this holiday period that it’s not the same as normal, we’re not able to gather in the big dinners with extended family, we’re not able to go out for those meals as we start to see the slowing of the spread, but still at high levels.”

Walz says despite the number of cases trending lower in Minnesota in recent days, it’s still very important for Minnesotans to practice social distance and limit gatherings over the holidays.
