Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is joining other Governors across America asking Congress to suspend a certain tax. The Governors want a federal 18-cent-per-gallon gas tax to be suspended until the end of the year. Walz and five other Democratic Governors made the announcement after President Biden said he is banning Russian oil and gas imports. Governor Walz is also saying he is open to the idea of a gas tax holiday removing Minnesota’s 28-cent-per-gallon tax from Memorial Day until after Labor Day.
