A group representing cities in Greater Minnesota says even though Governor Tim Walz’s budget plan does not cut state aid to local governments, they’re taking no chances and lobbying lawmakers to ensure there are no reductions. Little Falls Mayor Greg Zylka, president of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities warns, if state aid to cities is cut…

…”the only way to remedy that without cutting services to our police and fire is to tax the heck out of our communities.”

The group is concerned because of Minnesota’s unstable economic situation and uncertain state budget outlook.
