The Greenseam Rural Legislative Forum in mid-February entitled Initiatives to Improve the Rural Economy is meant to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to talk about the high-profile issues facing the rural economy and come up with potential solutions.

Greater Mankato Growth President and CEO Jonathan Zierdt said when it comes to rural Minnesota, nearly everyone is connected to agriculture in some way. “Everybody in our marketplace should be interested, because agriculture is a fundamental thread of who we are. This event will be of interest to everyone. So, it will have some legislative overview pieces that will happen. We’ll have a keynote address from the Federal Reserve Board, Joe Mahon, who will be exceptional,” he explained.

Zierdt says the event will also include a business panel, “Of folks that talk about opportunities in business – what they’ve seen in ag and ag business-related. And then we will top it off with a legislative panel of elected officials.”

The forum is scheduled for February 15 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Verizon Center Ballroom. Registration is available on the Greenseam website.
