A Hanska man has been accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl, who eventually got pregnant with a child that tests indicate was fathered by 41-year-old Travis Stancer.

A Brown County Human Services agent told police last April that Stancer may have fathered a child with a relative, and a sheriff’s investigator obtained a search warrant for the infant’s medical records. The criminal complaint shows that those records indicated the infant likely had parents who were closely related to one another.

Deputies recently received DNA test results, which show Stancer was likely the father of the baby.

In an interview, the baby’s mother said that Stancer sexually assaulted her multiple times starting when she was 18 years old. Stancer refused to talk to the investigator.

He is charged with felony counts of criminal sexual conduct and incest.
