The 2020 NFL season kicked off last night with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans in front of about 17,000 fans at Arrowhead Stadium.

But the big question isn’t who won . . . it was the Chiefs, 34 to 20 . . . it’s how did everyone handle the national anthem? Here’s what went down.

They actually played TWO songs.  First ALICIA KEYS performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, which is also known as the Black national anthem.  That was followed by the “Star Spangled Banner”.

The Texans chose to leave the field for BOTH, because they didn’t want to be seen as favoring one song over the other.  The Chiefs stayed on the field for both songs, and defensive end ALEX OKAFOR knelt for the “Star Spangled Banner”.

CHLOE X HALLE performed the anthem, and paid tribute to GEORGE FLOYD and BREONNA TAYLOR on their shirts.

Before kickoff, both teams met in the middle of the field for a moment of unity.
