Just after 2:00 am on 01-21-21 a Blue Earth County deputy attempted to stop 2004 Chrysler 300  for an equipment violation in the area of Highway 60 and County Road 118 near the Watonwan  County Line. The driver refused to stop resulting in a pursuit with speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit traveled through Lake Crystal, went south on Highway 169 and ended in Garden City when deputies pinned the car in so it could no longer move. 

Deputies determined that the Chrysler had been reported stolen in South Dakota. The driver, 42- year-old Shawn Eugene Humphries of Sioux Falls, was arrested and turned over to Blue Earth  County Jail staff on charges related to the pursuit and outstanding warrants. 32-year-old Abby  Jane Hall of Sioux Falls was the only passenger in the stolen vehicle and is also being held in  Blue Earth County Jail due to warrants for her arrest. 

No one was injured during the pursuit and there was little to no traffic throughout its duration.  Two Blue Earth County squad cars sustained minor damage. The stolen vehicle and one Blue  Earth County squad sustained moderate damage. Mankato DPS Police and the MN State Patrol assisted with the incident.
