(Washington, DC) — New Speaker Kevin McCarthy plans to follow through on his promise to remove Congresswoman Ilhan Omar from the U-S House Foreign Affairs Committee. Republican McCarthy said Wednesday that he will block the Minnesota Democrat and California Congressmen Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from their committee assignments. McCarthy said after the November election that he would strip Omar from the committee due to things she said about Israel and our relationship with that country. It would take a majority vote to remove Omar from the Foreign Affairs standing committee.
