Minnesota law enforcement is cracking down on speeding drivers on Minnesota roads. Mike Hanson with the Office of Traffic Safety says already in 2021 at least 13 people have died as a result of speeding.

“There is, I think, a huge misconception among some people, because of COVID and other things that law enforcement has had to deal with that traffic law enforcement is not a priority and nothing is further from the truth.”

Hanson says if you’re speeding, you will get caught. So far in 2021, 114 citations have been issued to drivers going 100 miles per hour or more–compared to 59 this time last year.
