A Brooklyn Park man is accused of beating a co-worker in Blue Earth County over the head with a hammer.

The victim told police that he argued earlier this week with Antonio Powell before the 42-year-old   hit him with the tool several times. After the assault, the man says Powell told him he knew where he lived.

The hammer was taken into evidence, as was surveillance video of the incident.

The criminal complaint shows that Powell claimed that the men argued because the victim continually “hounds” him to pick up his pace of work but that the victim him pushed him first. Police say the video does not support that claim.

Records show he also gave investigators a false date of birth and told them his name was Anthony Mosby.

Powell is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and giving police a false name.
