A Mankato man is facing burglary, domestic assault, and other charges after police say he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and fought with a man who was visiting her Monday morning.

Mankato Police say 28-year-old Davarian Clark broke the window screen and climbed into the victim’s house through the window by the main door and hit a man inside the house.

The criminal complaint shows that Clark left when he learned that police had been called but was found soon after near his mother’s house. When questioned, police say Clark admitted that he found out his ‘baby momma’ was sleeping with someone else, and he got into a fight with that man. He claimed, however, that the other man threw the first punch. He also denied breaking the window to get into the house.

His ex told police that they broke up four months ago but have children together.

Court records indicate Clark has numerous prior convictions, including domestic assault by strangulation in 2016 and another the same year for violating a no-contact order.
