A Mankato man is facing five Gross Misdemeanor charges in Blue Earth County after an alleged hit-and-run at the intersection of Fourth Street and Washington Street on Wednesday.

According to the complaint, 55-year old Robert Gene Batson was driving a tan Chevy Malibu and hit a vehicle with a female passenger inside. Batson then allegedly drove off heading towards the Courthouse in Mankato. Batson was later located at an apartment complex off of Monks Avenue.

When asked why he left the scene of the crash, Officers say Batson did not answer. The suspect later admitted to consuming a couple of alcoholic drinks after work, according to the report.

A preliminary breath test revealed an alcoholic concentration reading of .125, which is over the legal limit.

The victim later sought medical attention for injuries to her head, neck and shoulders.

Among the five charges, Batson is facing counts of Criminal Vehicular Injury, Criminal Vehicular Operation Causing Bodily Harm and DWI.
