Multiple agencies aided in rescuing a kayaker on the Blue Earth River in Faribault County on Saturday.
Around 8:45 p.m., the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Earth Police and Blue Earth Fire responded to a call that two kayakers were caught in high currents on the river and one of the kayakers was pinned against a tree.
According to the report, 47-year old David Frundt’s kayak became lodged against a tree and he was unable to get free due to the strong current. When first responders arrived they found Frundt clinging to a tree. A 16-year old male with Frundt had made it to shore safely on his own.
