A Mankato man is accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend over the course of two days before showing up at her apartment on Hilltop Lane with a weapon and breaking in on Tuesday.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel.

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Dan Schisel said, “The male had a hammer and made threats toward this female. When officers arrived they found the female there and the male had fled from the scene.”

Schisel said they believe 26-year-old Michael Fox kicked the door in to get into the apartment because, “It appeared that the door was kicked in just from the damage that was done on the door.”

Fox was arrested the following day. Schisel said he is facing several charges and, “They include first-degree burglary, threats of violence, stalking, and domestic assault, along with criminal damage to property.”

Court records show Fox has a criminal record that stretches back to 2010 and includes possession of a dangerous weapon, drug possession and sales, and multiple traffic violations.
