Mankato city manager Pat Hentges expects revenue shortfalls to be a major issue regarding the city’s budget moving forward.

“Shortfalls in liquor licenses, building permits, delinquencies in taxes, and that all will have a real impact on the city’s budget,” said Hentges. “The reality is moving forward services as we customarily thought may have to be adjusted.”

Hentges says he doesn’t expect the full impact of the COVID-19 related economic downturn to be felt until 2021 and perhaps 2022.
