A grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation will help the YWCA Mankato‘s programs for girls with a focus on physical activity and health.

The $5,000 will be used for Girls on the Run, Heart & Sole, Camp GOTR, and GEARS.

“We are grateful for the support from the Mankato Clinic Foundation,” said Amy Jordan, Director of Programs for Women and Girls at YWCA Mankato. “Research shows quality programming for girls has a positive impact on their social and emotional well-being and on their academics. In addition to that, these programs have a physical component which promotes a lifetime of healthy living.”

Registration is open, and YWCA Mankato is looking for volunteers to coach and mentor the girls in the programs. Interested individuals can find out more information at mankatoywca.org or by calling the organization.

The Mankato Clinic Foundation provides grants to organizations that effectively promote and improve community health and wellness. The physicians at the Mankato Clinic provide the majority of the Foundation funding.
