A Mankato man is accused of beating his mother late last week.

Mankato Police say 24-year-old Malcohm Clark hit the victim all over her body and head after she knocked on the door of the home where he was staying and then went back into the apartment. When she knocked again investigators say Clark threw his mom to the ground and wrapped his hands around her throat. She told police that he has hit her and threatened to kill her in the past.

A witness told investigators that Clark was not supposed to be in her home and only she and the victim had keys to the apartment. Clark claimed that he had permission to stay there. He maintains that his mother attacked him when he answered the door but admitted in an interview that he may have pushed the woman to the ground.

He is facing three felony domestic assault charges and court records show Clark has two prior convictions for Fifth-Degree Assault within the past ten years.
